Specialising in the creation of reports, documentary formats and magazine features, as well as supporting EB team productions. ## University studies and early career Cameraman and cinematographer Uwe Schwarze studied visual communication at Berlin [University of the Arts](https://www.udk-berlin.de/en/ "University of the Arts"), where he made his first attempts at camera work and editing. In the classes of [Heinz Emigholz](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heinz_Emigholz "Heinz Emigholz") and [Jutta Brückner](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jutta_Br%C3%BCckner "Jutta Brückner"), he learned to tell stories in images and sound and to develop dramaturgy. In addition to attending classes in experimental film and documentary film, he focused his studies on photography, graphic design and typography. During his studies he already worked as a freelance cameraman and editor for the broadcasters n-tv, N24 and Pro Sieben/Sat 1. In 2001, he founded the film production company Basiliscus Production, which is now run by him and [Stephanie Drescher](https://basiliscus.net/en/camera-crew/editor-and-creativ-tv-producer/stephanie-drescher "Editor Stephanie Drescher") under the name Basiliscus Film. In his daily work, he repeatedly engages intensively with these different areas of design and uses his experience for creative and personal image design on camera and for new, fresh ideas in post-production and editing.
