#  TV report broadcaster Deutsche Welle – The Island of Mykonos

## Mykonos: Two Shoot Days for Deutsche Welle – from Delos to the Paradise Club

Mykonos is one of Greece's most famous holiday islands – and one of the most beautiful shoot destinations we have travelled to for Deutsche Welle. In two shoot days, [Basiliscus Film](https://basiliscus.net/index.php?Itemid=635&lang=en "Basiliscus Film") produced a 4:30-minute euromaxx report on the Cycladic island. [Author and director Stephanie Drescher](https://basiliscus.net/index.php?Itemid=674&lang=en "Author Stephanie Drescher") led the production, coordinated all locations and protagonists on the ground, and delivered the finished report broadcast-ready to Deutsche Welle.

### Our Work on Mykonos

The [TV report ](https://basiliscus.net/index.php?Itemid=825&lang=en "TV report")was structured across seven scenes – covering everything in 48 hours of shooting from ancient archaeological sites to an open-air dancefloor.

We conducted interviews with three protagonists: Thomas Heyne, managing director of the San Giorgio Hotel and Paradise Club, located directly on Paradise Beach – one of the island's most famous stretches of sand. Giannis Galatis, a 77-year-old fashion designer who dressed Liz Taylor, Ingrid Bergmann, Princess Soraya and Maria Callas on Mykonos in the 1960s and 70s, and who told us how the island was once the meeting point of the international jet set. And Antonis Pothitos, a tour guide on the neighbouring island of Delos – one of the most significant ancient sanctuaries in Greece.

For the Delos sequence, Basiliscus Film organised a dedicated boat crossing from Mykonos. The uninhabited island – the mythological birthplace of the god Apollo – is accessible only by excursion boat. We filmed the ancient temple ruins, theatre remains and statues under the guidance of Antonis Pothitos, producing one of the most historically compelling sequences in the report.
