TV series: 50 Kitchens, one City - Slovakia
A cross-media film production about Berlin based restaurants
TV and web series with the Slovakia restaurant platz doch
Vanda Molnár's grandmother was born in Berlin, but she emigrated to Slovakia many years ago because of a big love. The love for cooking is deeply manifested in Vanda's family. Vanda Molnár's mother is an enthusiastic chef and she passed this passion on to her daughter. The funny thing is: Vanda moved from Bratislava to Berlin 16 years ago, right into the footsteps of her grandmother. In Berlin she now runs her restaurant „platz doch!” together with Silvia Pintérová, who was also born in Bratislava. By the way, both were born in the same hospital in 1976, only with one day difference. The two chefs offer Slow Food, inspired by the Slovakian way of cooking. The restaurant has a very beautiful minimalistic design and an open show kitchen, were Vanda and Silvia prepare their tasty dishes.
They serve natural wines from their home country and other regions of Central and Eastern Europe. Vanda regularly visits her home country to buy ingredients from small farmers, organic winegrowers and small organic farms. They get the fresh products from regional small businesses in Berlin and Brandenburg. „platz doch!" is much more than just a place to eat well. The two chefs want to convey food culture from their Slovakian homeland. „platz doch!” Is not only a restaurant, it is much more, a shop, a meeting place where you can make friends and also an event agency. If you like, you can rent the room for pop-up events and celebrations.
