Aerial footage is now standard in professional film production. What once required expensive specialist technology – helicopters and large crews – can today be achieved with modern camera drones: precise, flexible and in the highest image quality, in 4K, with stabilised footage and, if needed, natively in vertical 9:16 format for social media.
At Basiliscus Film, we rent out DJI drones – the same equipment we use ourselves for aerial shots in corporate films, TV reports and documentaries. When you hire a drone from us, you get field-tested kit, not something gathering dust in a warehouse.
Drone only or with a pilot – your choice
Do you hold an EU drone licence and want to fly yourself? No problem – we rent our drones by the day. Please note that in Germany, drones weighing more than 250 grams require either the EU competency certificate A1/A3 or the EU remote pilot licence A2. The DJI Mini 3 Pro, at just 249 grams, is a practical exception – it falls into the open category A1, making it ideal for fast, straightforward shoots with minimal bureaucracy.
Prefer to skip the hassle – or simply want to get the most out of your footage? On request, we provide an experienced drone operator. Our cameraman Uwe Schwarze is a certified drone pilot with years of experience in the air – above Berlin, Brandenburg and across Germany. The live image is monitored in real time on the ground, with exposure, camera angle and flight path coordinated precisely. The results are never left to chance.
All our drones are covered by liability insurance. We charge 8% of the net rental price for this insurance service.
