Basiliscus Film is a Berlin-based film production company that gives corporate films, TV reports, documentaries, and event videos the depth of television journalism. Founded in 2001, the studio has been recognised with several Intermedia-Globe Gold and Silver Awards at the World Media Festival. Its films are made hands-on: the people who develop your story are the ones behind the camera and in the edit — in German and English, for clients across Berlin, Germany, and beyond.

For over twenty years we have filmed for broadcasters, companies, associations, and institutions – corporate films, industrial films, TV reports, event films, and social media content. What works differently here than at a classic advertising agency: we show what is actually there, instead of claiming what ought to be. Our background is in journalism – we know how to listen, look closely, and find the heart of a story. We shoot it ourselves, behind the camera and in our own edit suite.

Award-winning films

Our productions have aired on public broadcast television and won Gold and Silver at international festivals. We hold every commission to that same standard – from a corporate film to a single social media clip.

How we tell your story

What customers say about us:

»Uwe and Steph from Basiliscus Film GbR provided us with excellent advice throughout, transforming our wishes into several short films with a wealth of ideas and creativity. The event films in the context of the German Children and Youth Welfare Days 2021 and 2025 (17th and 18th DJHT), as well as the filmic making-of of the SGB VIII picture book, bring the review to life. Thank you for your work (as camera team, editors and directors) and for the wonderful collaboration!«

Angela Smessaert | AGJ

»We are extremely satisfied with our collaboration with Stephanie Drescher and Uwe Schwarze. Our ideas and concepts were taken on board during constructive preliminary discussions and then implemented superbly. The results, such as the artist portraits for our social media channels, have even exceeded our expectations.«

»We hired Basiliscus Film team for a filming project at UEG Week 2025, and the experience was excellent from start to finish. Uwe and Stephanie were highly professional, flexible, and adapted seamlessly to the changes that arose during the project. The quality of their work was outstanding, and everything was delivered on time with great attention to detail. Their kindness and professionalism made the whole process a pleasure. We at A6Life highly recommends their services!«

Every subject can become ours

What subject do we specialise in? None in particular. Sometimes it’s a socio-political event we’re covering, sometimes a profile of an artist, and sometimes a report on a high-tech material for innovative construction in the future that we’d never heard of before.

What appeals to us is the moment when an unfamiliar topic opens up and suddenly becomes our own. We’re interested in people, good stories, the world – no matter which category they fall into.

The world is simply too fascinating to ignore any topic.
