Video Portrait – The Bremen-based artist Ngozi Ajah Schommers
A filming session, various video formats and an artist profile
The artist Ngozi Ajah Schommers lives and works in Bremen. She is the 26th winner of the HAP Grieshaber Prize. The Deutscher Künstlerbund is showing her works in the exhibition ‘I'm sorry, I can't help you’ in Berlin to mark the award ceremony.
We meet Ngozi Ajah Schommers in her studio in Bremen and accompany her for a day with our camera as she works as an artist. We want to document her diverse works and find out more about her methodology and approach. Why does she work with so many different materials and how will she bring the works together in the Berlin exhibition? Ngozi Ajah Schommers also talks about these questions with Nini Palavandishvili from the Deutsche Künstlerbund e.V. during our filming. The Künstlerbund curates the exhibition and supports the artist in an advisory capacity. The aim of the film is to promote the exhibition, introduce the sponsors of the prize money and provide information about the artist's oeuvre.
Classic video production with various film products
In the film, we show existing works for the exhibition as well as new works, including objects made of artificial hair, works on paper, installations and performances. The film explores Schommers' illness, her body, her home country Nigeria and the treatment of black women in the German healthcare system – always in the context of the upcoming exhibition.
In addition to the five-minute film to promote the exhibition, we also produced a 9:16 social media clip. Ngozi Ajah Schommers talks about her work, ideas and approaches in the interviews and guides us through the film.
In order to understand the composition and significance of the individual institutions involved in awarding the HAP Grieshaber Prize, we developed a graphic concept, produced it in After Effects and incorporated it into the film concept.

Here’s what our customer says about us:
We are extremely pleased with our collaboration with Stephanie Drescher and Uwe Schwarze. Our ideas and visions were taken on board during constructive preliminary discussions and subsequently put into practice to an excellent standard. The results, such as the artist portraits for our social media channels, have even exceeded our expectations.
