Trailer for the »TURN« web documentary

A Trailer That Brings a 30-Minute Web Documentary to Life

Engagement with the cultural output of the African continent is currently attracting significant attention in Germany – not least in the context of debates around coming to terms with colonialism and the goals of cultural funding and international cultural relations.

The »TURN – Fonds« Funding Programme of the German Federal Cultural Foundation

With the conclusion of the TURN – Fonds programme for artistic collaborations between Germany and African countries, the knowledge and experience gathered through TURN projects since 2012 is now to be made visible and accessible in the form of an interactive web film structured around key guiding questions.

The film focuses both on the aims of the TURN funding programme and on the goals set by the projects themselves, as well as on unintended outcomes and results that emerged along the way. The film's primary audiences are cultural practitioners and actors in the field of cultural policy.

From January to October 2020, our camera crew visited a wide range of projects supported by the programme and produced a 30-minute web documentary. This trailer was created to announce and promote the finished film.
